She is proficient in English, French, Spanish and Hindi.<\/p>\n

Iris is a Corporate Director (ICD.D) having completed the Director Education at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto and the Institute of Corporate Directors.\u00a0 She is a member of Institute of Internal Auditors \u2013 Government of Canada Audit Group. She is trained in cyber security and risk management at Harvard University, in Financial Management and Governance at the Universit\u00e9 Laval,<\/em> Coll\u00e8ge des Adminstrateurs de Soci\u00e9t\u00e9s<\/em> (CAS) as well as in Health Sector Governance at the Institute for Governance of Private and Public Organizations (IGOPP). She also received her advanced management training at McGill University and at the Canadian Centre for Management. Iris holds a Master’s Degree in International Law from the Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al<\/em> as well as a Master’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Bombay.<\/p>\n

In 2018 Iris was nominated to the Canadian Space Agency Departmental Audit Committee by the Controller General Treasury Board of Canada. She serves as member of the Council on the Status of Women appointed by the Government of Qu\u00e9bec. She is the chair of the Finance and Audit committees on the Board of Directors at Public Relations without Borders. She is also a Strategic Adviser at the Institut d\u2019\u00e9tudes international de Montreal<\/em> at the l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Montreal<\/em> (UQAM). Iris served for four years as Chair of the Audit committee on the Board of Directors of the Saint-Justine University Hospital (CHUSJ), Treasurer on the Board of Directors of Lawyers without Borders Canada and on the Board of Directors at the Canadian Society of Association Executives. A strategic adviser at the Conseil interculturel<\/em> – City of Montreal, Iris contributed as a jury member for the Scotia Bank \u2013 UQAM Merit Scholarships and the Women of Inspiration Entrepreneurship Awards organised by the Chantier d\u2019Afrique<\/em>. \u00a0She served over many years as an independent member on the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) Community Investment Committee and since October 2019 she has been elected by the membership to serve on CIRA\u2019s Board of Directors.<\/p>\n

A senior executive leading innovations and growth in organisations for over thirty years, Iris served as Executive Director at the Royal Society of Canada where she worked with a network of Canada\u2019s leading scientists, scholars and artists. She also served as Strategic Executive Director at the International Association for Public Participation and worked with trainers around the world to refine the content and methodologies for effective Stakeholder Engagement. Iris was President and Chief Executive Officer at Canada World Youth, and President and Chief Executive Officer at the Canadian Pension & Benefits Institute. Iris served for over 16 years as Director of Policy and Programs at the Canadian Parliamentary Centre Rights and Democracy and Director of Programs at Partnership Africa Canada. On an international level, she was Assistant Secretary-General of CIDSE (Coop\u00e9ration Internationale pour le D\u00e9veloppement et la Solidarit\u00e9<\/em>) an international organisation with consultative status and UN and the European Union in Brussels and President of the International Movement of University Students in Paris.<\/p>\n

A strategic leader, Iris\u2019s accomplishments are many: Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women<\/em> laureate in 2008 and again in 2011, presented by the Women’s Executive Network. Iris received the Women of Excellence Award in Financial Risk Management from the Women\u2019s Economic Forum in 2018, and the Prix de la Reconnaissance (<\/em>Outstanding Alumni Award) from l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Montreal<\/em> (UQAM) in 2014, and in 2012 the SME Passport Award from the Caisse de Depot et de placement du Qu\u00e9bec and the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal. Iris\u2019s contributions to the community were celebrated with the YWCA Women of Distinction <\/em>Award in 2009 and the Prix d’\u00c9xcellence<\/em> presented by the R\u00e9seau des femmes d’affaires du Qu\u00e9bec <\/em>in 2007. \u00a0Her governance expertise earned her the <\/em>Diversity<\/em> 50 Award in 2012 <\/em>from the Canadian Board Diversity Council and Equilar who promote the inclusion of women from diverse cultures with experience and specialised expertise in governance to contribute to corporate boards.[\/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Back” color=”blue” i_icon_fontawesome=”fa fa-arrow-left” add_icon=”true” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Frpsf.vascoweb.biz%2Fen%2Fboard-of-directors-and-management%2F|||”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
